• LSSI Profile

Lean Six Sigma Institute (LSSI) is a non-profit professional organization focusing on promoting operational excellence and management practices. Founded in 2009, LSSI was jointly initiated by the School of Management of Fudan University and Ingersoll Rand, a leading global industrial manufacturing enterprise, as an experimental platform for cooperation between Chinese and foreign industries and academia, with the aim of promoting the localization and implementation of advanced management concepts in Chinese manufacturing enterprises. It was initially established as an experimental platform for Sino-foreign industry-academia cooperation, aiming to promote the localization of international advanced management concepts in Chinese manufacturing enterprises. The School of Management of Fudan University, as an academic town in China's management education field, has long been committed to high-level enterprise management theory research and high-end talent training; Ingersoll Rand, as a global manufacturing giant, has cross-industry systematic practical experience and process management capabilities. This cross-boundary background has enabled LSSI to have a profound knowledge system support and a first-line industrial verification environment from the early stage of its establishment.

In 2010, LSSI was formally incorporated into the Shanghai Society of Management Science (SSMS) and became one of the professional platforms focusing on Lean Management and Six Sigma under the SSMS. LSSI is a municipal-level academic organization affiliated with the Shanghai Association of Science and Technology, bringing together management scholars, business executives and policy researchers, and is a professional organization with wide influence in the field of management science in China.

As a professional platform organization with lean staff and clear positioning, LSSI has long been committed to industry resource integration and multi-party synergy, and has built a rich external cooperation network around the in-depth implementation of Lean Management (i.e., improving efficiency and lowering costs by eliminating waste and streamlining processes) and Six Sigma (i.e., a data-based improvement methodology that reduces defects and fluctuations and improves the consistency of quality) in enterprises. We have built a rich network of external partners. At present, LSSI has gathered more than 200 experts from six countries, including China, the United States, Germany, Canada, Australia and Japan, and established more than 1,000 industry benchmarking case banks covering manufacturing, service industries and government organizations, providing enterprises with extensive and systematic knowledge support and practice benchmarking basis. LSSI is officially qualified to conduct certification training and qualification assessment, and currently has authorized qualifications for more than 50 certification systems, covering key areas such as Lean Six Sigma, quality management, operation management, project management and innovation management, etc. Most of these certification systems need to pass the assessment and evaluation process. Most of these certification systems need to be assessed and reviewed to be in line with international standards, which is a high degree of recognition of professional competence and organizational credibility in the industry.
